Later this week, the Government will announce its 2004 Budget and John Tamihere gives us a briefing on the ‘goodies’ that are in store for Maori. The Aotearoa Legalise Cannibas Party is challenging Tariana Turia in Te Tai Hauauru bi-election and party leader Michael Appleby talks to Willie about why they alone are standing a candidate. Willie also talks to political strategist, Matt McCarten about how bi-elections are won and lost. Rodney Hide’s private member’s Bill to end all Treaty claims within the next 10 years has been put onto Parliament’s agenda and he will explain what its about. The Maori Party has generated a lot of interest so far and earlier this week, Jim Perry spoke to Professor Ranginui Walker and Pita Paraone about their views
Our Arts Guest this week is one of this country’s premier bass players-Max Stowers from Te Rarawa. Sports commentator Ken Laban gives his weekly sports roundup and Qantas media award winner and political reporter Duncan Garner tells us his predictions for the week. So tune into yet another lively, thought provoking and debate packed programme!
