Friends, I have suffered enough. Workmates are sending me links to the following story on the BBC website:

trimming of his giant fleece live on television.
And the following two captions accompany Before and After photos on SFGates Day in Pictures pop-up this afternoon:

Some corrections:
Dear BBC, he wasn't shorn with scissors. They were shears, as in "Click go the shears, boys, click, click, click."
Dear DIP, every man, woman, and child in New Zealand watched him getting shorn? I don't think so. Oh, well, yes maybe a
few million sheep watched it too.
