Genevieve Cora Fraser: Two Palestine Poems

Palestine under Siege SOS Please
By Genevieve Cora Fraser
He had just left school
In the old city neighborhood
In Jerusalem an Israeli
Settler drove his car
Over this youth
Death hovered a week
Then settled
She, a Hebron
Senselessly beaten
Battered beauty
Beneath the settlers
Fists as IDF soldiers
Watched on unconcerned
Executions against the Wall
Live fire on peaceful protests
Dead are the dreams of peaceful means
When the world reaction is to yawn
The Fourth Geneva
Convention of 1949
Please reconvene
Take effective means
Grave breaches
Conditions
Deteriorate
Starvation, thirst, disease
Continued siege
My God why
Have you forsaken us
To the brutality of Thine own?

Israel Offers Peace to Palestine
(2004 Commencement Forecast)
By Genevieve Cora Fraser
His bullet ridden self
Penetrated
The consciousness
Of few media outlets
As blood oozed
Out he stared
Blankly
As his executioners
Laughed he slid
Out of their grasp
Death closed the door
To his torment
Medics held at bay
By IDF weapons
Looked on as the IDF
Did their job
Death is their tool
Of choice
For winning peace
Everlasting
For Palestinians
Palestine's child
Just five was run-over
By a speeding
Settler
Tiny bones cracked
Eyes squished
Flesh squeezed
By the settler's tires
Served him right
For getting in the way
Of the Settler
Is the way of g-d's justice
Claiming death over life
For non-Jews
In the way
Of our rights
Resistance will not
Be tolerated
Children
Picking stones
Gunned down
Starved
Farmers fear
Groves uprooted
Blasted wells
Reservoirs, water pipes
Are for Jews
Not Palestinians
Unfit to live
In Israel's right of way
A way Zion grants only
To the chosen people placed
In the garden
Given to Jews
Alone
Bullets sprayed the Wall
Crowded with Palestinian
Sympathizers Palestinian
Protesters
A Jew
Hit by a Jewish bullet
No way to tell the difference
Between the traitor
Jew and Palestinian
Rafah, Jenin,
Nablus, Gaza, all
Buzzed by bullets
Bombs, thunder of jet
Fighters
Giant treads grinding
Scooping, blasting
Lungs, hearts, brains
Sinew
Collapsed in the dust
Drenched in the blood
Of the lamb
They sank lost in chaos
In annihilation's smile
Sharon is Glorious
His Zenith Redeemed
For History Death is Glory
When the prize is
Palestine cleansed
Of Palestinians
If you stop terrorizing Israel
Israel will grant you Peace
Behind a walled silence
We hold the key
To our security
Silence, silence, silence
Grants you peace
Of the grave
