A practicing doctor in Vanuatu has accompanied and personally guaranteed payment for heart surgery for 5 week old twins he has brought here from Vanuatu. Dr. Allen has paid the health bills for other former paitients from Vanuatu. Why does he do it and can the health board help him out at all?
12:45 Jack Gielen.
A representative from the Suicide Prevention Trust in the Waikato has been turning up at funerals in Hamilton uninvited and offering berevement counselling. His orginsation has also been investigated for it agressive telemarketing campaign. Noelle talks with Mr. Gielen about his controversial techniques.
1:10 Green MP Sue Kedgley .
Kedgleywants the government to drop proposed changes to health regulations regarding human tissue. The government wants to simplify the process for gaining consent for use of human tissue in research . Ms. Kedgeley is concerned that this process is being pushed through as a regulation and is not recieving the scrutiny that would be required to pass it as an Act of Parliment. Noelle speaks with Ms. Kedgeley about how this process could be approved.
