Kerry Listen: Israel's Brutal Treatment of Palestine is not Upheld by
People of Conscience Everywhere

In an article by Senator John Kerry for a Brown University magazine, the Senator refers to Israel as the only true
democracy in the Middle East and concludes, "the cause of Israel must be the cause of America--and the cause of people
of conscience everywhere."
What Kerry fails to understand is that Israel's democracy is only open to Jews. Arab Israeli citizens are afforded the
same brutal treatment shown the Palestinians. Perhaps Kerry doesn't realize Israel's 36 year long brutal occupation of
Palestine is illegal. The settlements are illegal; bulldozing homes, reservoirs, wells and water pipes, destroying crops
and orchards, deliberate starvation and holding 3.2 million people under lock and key is illegal. The Apartheid Wall,
Israeli-only roads, razor wire electrified fence and checkpoints insure that the population cannot escape the incursions
of tanks, helicopter gun ships, and the daily killings of men, women and children.
Recently Prime Minister Sharon said, "The Israeli war of independence isn't over yet." Sharon's right hand man, Moshe
Yalon, defines the Palestinian conflict as an "internal cancer" and the Israeli reaction as "chemotherapy." Israeli
revisionist historian Benny Morris spoke to the Israel's Haaretz newspaper in January and justified the gang
rape/murders, the scores of massacres, the dispossession of property, and the expulsion of Palestinians in 1948 as part
of a natural birthing process for Israel. Morris recommends further ethnic cleansing of not only Palestinians but the
Arab Israelis. Ethnic cleansing, also known as genocide is also illegal under international law.
Fortunately, many members of the Jewish community are appalled. Perhaps Kerry will someday recognize that Israel's
racist and illegal politics and policies are abhorred by "people of conscience everywhere."
