Scoop Anti-Semitic?
Just read some of your articles........why are you so anti sematic (sic)???? they are so one sided they are sickening.
Anne McIntosh – New Zealand.
Co-Editor’s Note: Scoop is not anti-Semitic. This news agency bases its editorial policy on humanitarian ideals, and, if by publishing information, articles, releases and images on the state of living or otherwise in the Territories causes those, who would otherwise support the killing of innocents, to consider the true consequence of their decisions, then publishing is justified. Likewise, Scoop publishes information, when provided, on the counter-consequence within Israel. It is important to point out, it is the Government of Israel that has drawn condemnation from the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan due to the horrific scale of assassinations, breaches of International Law, Geneva Convention abandonment, and breaches of UN Security Council resolutions. The scale of innocent death is beyond reasoned comprehension, and this fact knows no territorial border. As far as this news agency is concerned, religion, race, creed, certainly has no sway on our reportage – therefore is not Anti-Semitic. Too often, a race-card, Anti-Semitism, is used to shield the aggressor from being exposed as criminal. Scoop will continue to provide a platform for those who are oppressed.

Testing Their Mettle
Sir,
France, Germany and Russia are incensed they are apparently being excluded from the financial gains to be realised from reconstruction work in Iraq.
To them I say tough, there is no gain without pain.
As Mr Bush has so rightly said: “It's very simple. Our people risked their lives. Friendly coalition folks risked their lives and...the contracting is going to reflect that”.
If these three countries (and others who declined to become involved in the initial conflict) are serious in their desire to assist, then let them now play a leading role in the restructuring of Iraq’s massive $120 billion of foreign debt. That would be a real test of their honesty in endeavour and mettle.

ACT Indulging Themselves
Now that ACT has disposed of its single ‘out of the closet’ Maori MP they seem to feel free to indulge themselves. Ask yourself what ACT hopes to gain by twisting statistics to blacken the name of Maori as bludgers on the country. Will it earn them a single vote or contribute one whit to this country moving forward in a unified and progressive fashion? It is telling that in the latest epistle from St Richard of the Prebble (amusingly called The Letter) ACT is up in arms because as well as confiscating land from Maori, the effect of the bill might be to take some of OUR land also. (Their words, my emphasis). They refer of course to their millionaire friends that hold frontage on Takapuna beach so perhaps it is wrong for me to assume that by ‘OUR’ they mean the club of white folks, maybe they are using it simply to refer to the club of rich folks. Of course ACT state that it’s r ve alone. Hilarious don’t you think?
Yours faithfully

Corrupt U.S. Legal System
Overwhelmingly corrupt legal system all over this country
On December 1, 2003, the overwhelmingly corrupt United States Supreme Court in a despicable and unconstitutional act and action of covering-up for the Las Vegas, Nevada District Courts, the Nevada Supreme Court, the Federal Court of Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Ninth Circuit Court Of Appeals in San Francisco, DENIED my petition for a Writ Of Certiorari without comment. Even though every word, sentence, and paragraph in the petition is overwhelmingly supported with indisputable proof of all charges made, consisting of court records, trial transcripts, police reports, affidavits, documents, signed and sworn to statements, photographs, tape recordings, trial testimony, you name it, its there. And [all] in the records of the courts.
And in doing so, the high court aided and abetted the lower courts with their horrendously illegal and unconstitutional acts, actions, and inactions against Vipperman, which are their standard customs, practices, policies, and procedures. Which the high court has previously held they can be held liable for committing their illegal and unconstitutional acts and actions. But ignored its own holdings and rulings in this case:
And the high court further covered-up for the illegal and unconstitutional acts and actions of the State Of Nevada, and its overwhelmingly corrupt police, prosecutors, judges, courts, attorneys, politicians, entities, departments and agencies. And all those employed therein. And further closed the doors on millions of Americans that have been framed by corrupt police and prosecutors, railroaded through the courts by corrupt judges, and sold down the drains by their despicable cowardly alleged defense attorneys. And kept in prisons by corrupt pardon and parole boards that act in collusion and conspiracy with their counter parts of the overwhelmingly corrupt legal system all over this country. Because they will not confess to crimes they did not commit, and thereby clean-up all the illegal, unconstitutional, and horrendous acts committed against them by those in authority. Which is in fact common place, and happens each and every day all over this country. And every court, judge, cop, prosecutor, attorney, and politician everywhere knows it happens, and keeps it all covered-up. As the days of the Star Chambers and Salem Witch Trials have never c
And until that day comes, all of us all over this country are in grave danger. Because; the despicable corrupt judges and courts everywhere, have made all of us the chattels of the State wherein we happen to be at any given time, and the State and Federal government: And have further but not conclusive of, deprived all of the citizens of this country of their birth given Constitutional Rights, long-long ago....
And they are now simply a fallacy of your imagination: And ignored by all in positions of authority over you and yours.
And it won't be very long until the government, state and/or federal, will control [all] of the news media, radios, televisions, newspapers, magazines, and books. And the "Prison Business" will be the biggest and most profitable business in each and every state. And all those who fail to attempt to stop these horrendous acts and actions by the states, and supported by the federal government, will end up in a prison themselves, or be taxed the largest majority of their incomes to pay for those who keep the others in prisons.
There currently being over Six Million (6,000,000) people in prison or on probation or parole in this country, you can rest assured that your turn is just around the corner....
Sincerely; Franklin D. Vipperman USA - Author of The Deal Makers, The Cesspool, and Hell Hole. And; Plaintiff/Appellant/Petitioner in Petition for Writ Of Certiorari. In Proper Person

"Law & Religion" will be the defining topic not only legally but geopolitically over the next years and decades. Here's why: In the sincere observances of the principles of true religion and virtue, we recognise the base, the only sure foundation of enlightened society and well-established government "separation of church and state" should not be construed to mean separation of religion and state. President Calvin Coolidge articulated this mutual dependency in these clear words: “Our Government rests upon religion. It is from that source that we derive our reverence for truth and justice, for equality and liberality and for the rights of mankind. Unless the people believe in these principles they cannot believe in our government. There are only two main theories of government in the world. One rests on righteousness and the other on force. One appeals to reason, the other appeals to the sword. One is exemplified in republic, the other is represented by a despotism. The government of a country never gets ahead of the religion of a country. There is no way by which we can substitute the authority of law for the virtue of men. Of course we can help to restrain the vicious and furnish a fair degree of security and protection by legislation and police control, but the real reform which society in these days is seeking will come as a result religious convictions, or they will not come at all. Peace justice, charity – these cannot be legislated into being. They are the result of Divine Grace.”
Calvin Coolidge explained this principle further at a Speech to Council of Congregational Churches in Washington DC – 1925: “The government will be able to get out of the people only such virtue as religion as placed there”, “The righteous authority of the law depends for its sanction upon its harmony with the righteous authority of the Almighty. If this faith is set aside, the foundations of our institutions fail, the citizen is deposed from the high estate which he holds as amenable to a universal conscience, society reverts to a system of class and caste, the government instead of being imposed by reason from within is imposed by force from without. Freedom and democracy would give way to despotism and slavery.” If people do not have strong religious convictions, “society might go on for a time under its own momentum, but it would be had for destruction”.
[these principles apply in any constitutional democratic-republic]
Without religion the government of a free people cannot be maintained.
In Washington's famous Farewell Address he said:
"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.... And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion." The Annals of America, op. cit., 3:612.
The emphasis of the Founders was primarily on the Bible rather than creeds. When Benjamin Franklin was asked by Ezra Stiles, President of Yale University, to enunciate his religious beliefs, he wrote:
"I believe in one God, the Creator of the universe. That he governs it by his providence. That he ought to be worshipped. That the most acceptable service we render to him is in doing good to his other children. That the soul of man is immortal and will be treated with justice in another life respecting its conduct in this. These I take to be the fundamental points in all sound religion." Smyth, The Writings of Benjamin Franklin, op. cit., 10:84.
When the Northwest Ordinance was pass by Congress in 1787, it required that "religion, morality and knowledge" be taught in the schools. The "religion" was to emphasize universal principles rather than the creed of any particular denomination.
DEFINING "TRUE RELIGION"
Based on Franklin's "fundamental points in all sound religion," we find the schools teaching five major religious principles:
1. There exists a Creator who made all things, and mankind should recognize
and worship Him.
2. The Creator has revealed a moral code of behavior for happy living which
distinguishes right from wrong.
3. The Creator holds mankind responsible for the way they treat each other.
4. All mankind live beyond this life.
5. In the next life mankind are judged for their conduct in this one.
Thomas Jefferson said these basic beliefs are the principles "in which God has united us all." Bergh, The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, op. cit., 14:198.
Washington said in his Farewell Address that these are the principles of religion on which our nation has been founded and described them as being essential to good government.
At the same time the Founders did not want any particular creed or special religious point of view to be emphasized. As Jefferson wrote in his Bill for Establishing Elementary Schools in Virginia: "No religious reading, instruction, or exercise shall be prescribed or practiced inconsistent with the tenets of any religious sect or denomination." J. Randolph, ed., Early History of the University of Virginia, pp. 96-97.
This is the real meaning of the term "separation of church and state." It means that the government, even though founded on religious beliefs, will not favor the creed of or give status to any one church over the others. They are all to be treated equally.
SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED TO MEAN SEPARATION OF RELIGION AND STATE.
The Founders would be intellectually horrified to discover that some people in our own day want to use these terms to separate government from religion. When the government is separated from religion, its moral fiber is lost and corruption becomes inevitable. In fact, the lack of respect for fundamental religious and moral principles by too many people in government today is probably the cause of most of our problems.
As Washington said, if you want good government, "religion and morality are indispensable supports."
Benjamin Franklin said: "Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters." Albert Henry Smyth, ed., The Writings of Benjamin Franklin, 10 vols. (New York: Macmillan Co., 1905-1907), 9:569.
John Adams was equally explicit: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." John R. Howe, The Changing Political Thought of John Adams (Princeton, N,J: Princeton University Press, 1966), p. 189.
Samuel Adams added a final warning: "Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt." William V. Wells, The Life and Public Services of Samuel Adams, 3 vols. (Boston: Little, Brown and Co., 1865), 1:22.
hence "law & religion" was the favourite topic of Cicero; Blackstone; Locke;Montesquieu; Bastiate; Jefferson and the Founders, etc
Yours faithfully, Marcus – New Jerusalem.
