This Morning's News
Naturally I was eager to see what this morning's local TV news bulletins - which are all I have time to see before setting off for work - had to say about President Bush in Australia. Most showed the unnamed senator (Brown) standing to say something; one channel pointed out that he was a Green. Noone explained what it was that he wore on his lapel, or what he was making a point about.
I don't know how the nationwide networks here have covered it, and I don't have cable so I didn't see CNN.
I only know CNN covered what happened in the Australian Parliament because I went to the on-line edition of the Sydney Morning Herald this morning and read something that, to me, is the journalistic equivalent of watching the news on September 11, 2001. It is a lengthy article, but it will reward your attention.
See….
