Hoskings' Patsy PM Questions Shameless
Letter to the Editor
Mike Hoskings interview of Helen Clark on breakfast television (6 Oct) was shameless. I have never heard a journalist ask so many patsy questions.
It seems Helen Clark is quite a fan of the United Nations. She was happy to attack Iraq - but only if the UN mandated it. She condemned Paul Holmes - for insulting the UN Secretary General. Now, after telling us that we have to replace the Privy Council (because we’re a sovereign state and can make our own decisions) she proposes changing our laws on smacking - because the UN tells us to. So much for being a sovereign state.
Clark’s socialist philosophy dictates that responsibility should be taken from families and vested in the state and likewise from free nation states and vested in the UN.
I think Sneaky Clarkie wants Kofi Annan’s job. But at what price to us? There was a lot of sense in the pre-Duynhoven law that MPs could not swear allegiance to foreign powers.
Healthy relationships between individual people and individual nations will guarantee us freedom and prosperity. World domination by socialists won’t.
Yours faithfully
Michael Williams
