Images: Aliens Take Over Wellington City Streets

Aliens, acrobats and assorted freaks took control of a central Wellington street today, much to the amusement and bewilderment of bystanders caught up in the invasion.
Ugly Bugs…
It’s Fringe NZ’s 10th birthday next year, and to encourage others to join in Fringe participants donned their X-ray specs and Jet packs in a sci-fi themed assault on shoppers, tourists and city workers.
The official theme will be “10 Fast Years”. According to a festival spokesman, the 10th NZ Fringe festival will be “extremely bizarre, and a lot of fun”, with a program of new “outdoor wacky events,” planned.
It also promises to be the biggest held to date, with the number of potential venues rising to 55 for 2003. The Fringe festival will take place from the 14th of February to the 9th of March
If you’d like to join in, funding is available until Monday, whilst the registration deadline is on the 25th.
