At last count, there were a dozen U.S. Congressional Committee's investigating the tragedies surrounding the Sept. 11
attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. It is difficult to grasp the magnitude of the chaos, but as former
FBI chief, J. Edgar Hoover, once said, " The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so
monstrous he cannot believe it exists." Maree Howard writes.
Perhaps the most amazing coincidence of the WTC attack, is that a piece of paper - the passport of alleged hijacker
Muhammed Atta - could fly out of the north tower as the jet fuel was supposedly melting those steel girders and flutter
to the ground and was recovered - yet none of the steel and aluminium parts of the jets themselves could make it out of
the inferno.
We're supposed to believe that?
And another thing. Why is it, according to CNN, that both President Bush and Vice President Cheney personally intervened
and asked Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle to "limit the congressional investigation into the events of Sept 11"? Bush
made the request at a meeting with congressional leaders on January 29.
He asked that the House and Senate intelligence committee's look only into, " the potential breakdowns among federal
agencies that could have allowed the terrorist attacks to occur," rather than conduct a comprehensive inquiry.
Cheney had made a similar appeal to Daschle on January 25.
"The Vice-President expressed the concern that a review of what happened on Sept. 11 would take resources and personnel
away from the effort in the war on terrorism," Daschle said.
"I acknowledged that concern, and it is for that reason that the Intelligence Committee is going to begin this effort
trying to limit the scope and the overall review of what happened," he said.
Clearly, a forensic investigation into what actually caused the buildings to collapse has not, and will not, be opened
and probably never will be because the crucial evidence, such as steel from the building, was not sent to a
metallurgical laboratory to be examined.
Fire Engineering Magazine, a 125-year-old respected journal which publishes technical details of major fires, recently
criticised the investigations as "a half-baked farce."
The journal said it "has good reason to believe that the official investigation blessed by FEMA (Federal Emergency
Management Agency) and run by the American Society of Civil Engineers is a half-baked farce, commandeered by political
forces whose primary interests......lie far afield of full disclosure."
There are numerous indicators that something other than fuel fires caused the towers to collapse; including the immense
clouds of dust and apparent disintegration of 425,000 cubic yards of concrete; the short duration and low temperature of
the jet fuel fires; the fact that rubble burned for more than three months despite being constantly sprayed with water;
the report from the medical examiner that many of the dead had been "vaporised" and the absence of any flight data from
the aircraft black boxes.
Yet, the fires did not reach 3,200 degree (F) 30-minute level necessary to incinerate a body.
Michael Baden, the New York chief forensic pathologist said, " ..bodies are not created or burnt beyond the ability to
be identified in the type of fire that occurred at the World Trade Centre."
And in case we have forgotten, a group of terrorists not associated to Osama Bin Laden did take credit for the Sept 11
attacks.
At one o'clock in the afternoon of the attacks U.S. time, the Japanese Red Army which has hijacked several planes,
called Al Jazeera Television and claimed responsibility. They claimed that the attacks were in retribution for Nagasaki
and Hiroshima.
These people wear red headbands. For what it's worth, the only physical description of the hijackers that came from
people calling from cell-phones on the planes was that the hijackers wore red headbands. None of the widows say that
their love-ones had anything to say about the language or appearance of the terrorists.
Presumably the victims on the planes would have recognised and reported about oriental facial features of the hijackers
but then, not all Japanese Red Army operatives are oriental.
If you were able to call a loved-one from your hijacked aircraft, surely the first thing you would say would be "We're
being hijacked' and the second thing would be, "by what looks like......."
The fact that none of these people did this raises a question about whether the hijackers actually looked like "us."
That is, they were not Middle Eastern or Asian and it was, therefore, not noteworthy for them to say so in their last
calls to their loved-ones.
At first, it all seemed so obvious. It was those Islamic terrorists - right? The truth is out there - somewhere!
