VSA Raises $3000 In Middle Earth Charity Auction

Published: Fri 21 Dec 2001 10:44 AM
Volunteer Service Abroad has raised approximately NZD$3000 in its Christmas charity auction of a copy of the Lord of The Rings illustrated and signed by Alan Lee, and signed by Lord of The Rings Director Peter Jackson.
The EBAY auction has now finished and the successful bidder is identified as sdenkers@evoskis.com.
In the final 12 hours of the seven day auction bids rose over the USD$1000 mark and it looks as if three bidders remained in the race at that point. The final price for the book was USD$1325.
The auction was promoted heavily by Scoop.co.nz and received valuable promotional assistance from Scoop’s US based content partner www.theonering.net.
Over the course of the auction, the EBAY auction page for the item was viewed 5660 times.
