Howard’s End: NZ’s Trustpower Takes Windpower To Adelaide

Big News: Asylum Seekers Update
- Well, Australia has decided to take in 40 asylum seekers, and Fiji could host up to 1000. That’s according to Government ministers from both countries. It appears that Australia is quite happy to fund the setting up and maintenance of a facility for asylum seekers, as long as the absolute minimal amount of asylum seekers are processed on Australian soil. Freeing The Free Trade Agreement
-Following the refusal of the New Zealand government to release the text of the Hong Kong-New Zealand “Closer Economic Partnership” free trade and investment agreement, GATT Watchdog activist Aziz Choudry has gone to Hong Kong hoping to liberate the text of the agreement so that there can be serious independent analysis and informed debate about the agreement before it is signed. AMERICAN STRIKES - FULL COVERAGE------------
Guest Opinion: US Special Forces Veteran Has Serious Misgivings
- I'm a retired Special Forces Master Sergeant. That doesn't cut much for those who will only accept the opinions of former officers on military matters, since we enlisted swine are assumed to be incapable of grasping the nuances of doctrine. Stateside: The Ugly Face of Racist Resistance
- This column has been nobbled by anthrax. It was going to be about the October 21st report-back of the delegation from the Women of Color Resource Center who went to the UN World Conference Against Racism in Durban. But the previous Thursday the House of Representatives shut down early because of an anthrax scare and Congresswoman Barbara Lee came home to Oakland for the weekend. So the column's a bit fat, but hopefully what it contains is neither too finely milled nor any flakier than usual. See... Stateside: You Go Girl! [1]
