Government is by nature good. Government is the most powerful tool that any individual has access too.
Despite the abstract model presented by anachists and the like, of government as a black dominating beast, sitting on
top of the social heap, harnessed by the big ol' ubiquitous faceless coporation and his rich buddies, the mandate of
government is to excercise its sovereignty in the public interest.
But government is beholden to corporate interests, and ignores the needs of the citizenry? Well boo hoo, who' s fault is
that.
It is the fault of the citzen who does not vote the flawed public servant out of office, does not make submissions to
select commitees or commisions, does not participate in the democratic process.
Politicians are not parasites. They are individuals responsible enough to excercise the right and duty to participate.
Don't like your local representitive? Vote him out. Run yourself. Stop whinging about the sell-out corporate lackeys in
power. You give that power by your action or lack of it.
You get the government you deserve.
