Scoop Christmas Advisory & Giant List Of Thankyous

Published: Fri 22 Dec 2000 10:16 AM
Dear Readers and My Scoop Subscribers,
Scoop has now come to the end of its first full year of broadcasting real-time news on the Internet.
From this evening Scoop will go into recess through to the 15th of January when full service to subscribers will resume.
In the meantime – be not afraid – your email boxes will not be full to the brim on your return after your holidays.
The year 2000, the interregnum as Scoop likes to call it, has been a very busy year for Scoop and much has changed on the site. Hopefully for the better.
Early in the year we expanded our free and customisable My Scoop news-by-email service and this has proved very popular with over 2300 subscribers now in the Scoop Loop. Scoop confidently expects that with its new branding partnership with Steinlager Premium Light now in place, 2001 will be even better!
That said nothing will happen without the continued support and assistance of a veritable army of Scoop helpers….
Hence it is time for:
SCOOP’S GIANT LIST OF THANKYOUS…
Scoop has a huge number of people to thank for helping make Scoop what it has been this year. If you are not mentioned below it is not because your assistance is not appreciated – it is – THANKYOU!
Firstly, our contributors, press release writers, politicians and lobbyists from throughout the country and around the world. You are the people who give Scoop its breadth, depth and character. There are far too many of you to list – but you know who you are – THANKYOU!
Secondly our editorial contributors, photographers Mark Graham, Geoff Beynon and assorted Hobbits, columnists Russell Brown, John Howard, C.D. Sludge, Keith Rankin, Mike Heine, Jordan Carter, Rosalea Barker, David Miller, Greg Meylan, Finlay Thompson, Deidre Kent, Mathew Loh, Karl Ferguson, Mark Cubey, Anne Else – THANKYOU!
Thirdly our collaborative partners: Our ISP Paradise Net (The best ISP in the country yet again!), content partners USP Journalism School, Loop Magazine, Context.co.nz, City Voice Newspaper, and our new innovative advertising creator Oktobor (who invented Nads), your assistance has been invaluable - THANKYOU!
Fourthly our sponsors, without whom none of this would be possible. Clear Communications, Office of the Retirement Commissioner, Southern Cross Healthcare, Eforce.co.nz, Digipro, Nzedge.com, and Steinlager Premium Light – THANKYOU!
Fifthly a couple of advertising agencies deserve special mention – Optimedia and Saatchi & Saatchi – THANKYOU!
Sixthly, student journalists Emma, Rebecca and Todd – THANKYOU!
Seventhly, Scoop’s two staff reporters and filing editors Chris Holm and Guy MacGibbon – THANKYOU!
Eighthly, Scoop’s technical team, technical director Andrew McNaughton and assistant Miles Thompson, designers Douglas Bagnall and Janet Gudman - THANKYOU!
And FINALLY YOU….
The most important group of people of all, our readers and subscribers, whose support, encouragement, criticism, feedback, bouquets and brickbats have kept us on our toes and have made this year of interregnum nothing other than fascinating….
