TOP SCOOPS
Hard news Is Here
- GOOD DAY MEDIAPHILES ... does it occur to anyone else that the run-up to the "real" Millennium is quite a bit more millennial than the one everybody celebrated last year? See... HARD NEWS - The President's Mandate is Missing [1]

The Florida Recount
- With 65 of the 67 counties in Florida recounted, Republican George W. Bush's lead has narrowed to 225 votes. The result of the recount appears to be academic, however, with legal action looking inevitable. For earlier coverage of the US Elections on Scoop, see the WORLD PAGE [1] . Rosalea Barker: Punched cards! I ask you!
- Missing my usual flutter on the Melbourne Cup on November 7, I took a bob each way on the Presidents Cup instead. Three green Tic Tacs still await their fate, bet recklessly on George Bush winning as I sat with my fellow Alameda County vote counters last night, fanning through wads of punch cards looking for chads. See... US Elections: Two horses win six-legged race [1]

Upton On Line: Examining Holocaust Claims
- The fourth estate (and, to be the fair, oppositional elements of the ‘third’) have been making a meal of the latest reference to a holocaust on these shores – this time from the lips of Sandra Lee. Incredibly, no-one it seems is even interested in the empirical (as against the rhetorical) claim she made. See... Upton-on-line November 10th [1]
