NEWSFLASH: Florida Vote Recount Expected

In an extraordinary early morning (3.30am ET) development in the US Elections the final result in the State of Florida has been placed in question after the Secretary of State for Florida reported that the winning margin to Texas Governor George Bush may be as small as 600 or 700 votes.
The election hinges on the outcome in the state and whoever wins Florida will become the next President of the US.
Vice President Al Gore who earlier rang George Bush to concede defeat has now rung Bush back and retracted his concession. It is not known how long a recount of the 6 million votes cast in Florida will take.
Al Gore is expected to make a public statement shortly.
