Dollar Fell Below US 40 Cents Yesterday
- The New Zealand dollar hit a new record low of US 39.92 cents yesterday afternoon - the first time it had fallen below US 40 cents - following warnings by Reserve Bank head Don Brash to the Finance and Expenditure Select Committee that New Zealand could return to stagflation, the combination of high inflation and negative economic growth last seen in the Muldoon years.
