Inflation Bogeyman Rears Its Head – Aussie Interest Rates Up – Dollar In Motion
- Comments by the Reserve Bank governor this morning on inflation have been accompanied by intense action on the currency markets today. This morning the Kiwi Dollar was been falling. This afternoon it has bounced back At 11.30am NZ time the Reserve Bank of Australia unexpectedly raised interest rates by 25 basis points to 6.25%. The quickly rallied through 0.5800. HSBC says it expects the NZD to find renewed strength on the back of the AUD.
