NEWSFLASH: Fiji Army Confirms Arms In Play

Radio New Zealand has reported in its 10am bulletin that the Fijian Army has confirmed it is aware of an operation underway to smuggle arms out of the Fijian Parliamentary Complex to key locations around the Island of Fiji.
Reports of the smuggling operation had earlier been heard in Fiji.
An Amnesty to be granted to George Speight and his fellow hostage takers is not due to take force till all arms have been handed over to the Military.
The handover of arms was expected to take place this morning.
Meanwhile the Great Council of Chiefs will be meeting again today to discuss a makeup of for a new Government.
