The hostages at the centre of the two month military crisis in Fiji could be released as early as 1:30pm today.
Former Fijian Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry and 31 members of his government have been held in Parliament for over
six weeks by rebel coup leader George Speight.
AFP correspondent Michael Field told the Kim Hill show the families of the hostages were advised the hostages were
likely to be released early this afternoon.
The military and George Speight are meeting today to sign an accord to pave the way for the release of the hostages.
When released the hostages are be likely to be debriefed in a counciling session with a trauma recovery team.
