ACC Tinkering
- The Government has announced it will change laws restoring the Accident Compensation monopoly which effect small businesses, saying it was influenced by Federated farmers and not the Green Party over the move. The new changes allows the self employed to nominate the amount they pay in ACC levies rather than have them calculated on the previous year's rate. Tinkering at the edges of the ACC reforms won’t help most of the businesses, employers and social groups worried about the impact of the Government’s law change, Opposition ACC spokesperson Gerry Brownlee said today.
