Papanui Library closed for building alterations

Published: Fri 5 Nov 1999 12:19 AM
Papanui Library will be closed from Saturday 6 November for six weeks to allow integration with the Papanui Service Centre.
During this time, service centre functions such as the payment of rates and provision of council information will be located in the boardroom at the back of the building, accessed from Restell Street.
And while library customers are able to collect their reserved items from the boardroom, they are encouraged to use other libraries in the Canterbury Public Library network - the closest being
Bishopdale, Fendalton and Redwood.
Building alterations will see the library and service centre brought together as one. "When the doors re-open on Monday 20 December, customers will be able to get council information and their library books issued at one service point," said Erica Rankin, Papanui Community Librarian. "We are aiming to offer our customers both maximum convenience and excellent service."
The library's opening hours will be adjusted in line with those of the service centre. From Monday 20 December it will open at 9am, while closing times remain the same.
