Wellingtonians can get information about the WestpacTrust Stadium from the comfort of their own homes and businesses. In
its latest marketing initiative, stadium organisers have sponsored two "Blue Pages" in the Wellington Telephone Book out
today [15 October].
"Now everyone has their own map of the stadium, as well as information on parking, seating and our code of behaviour,"
said Fran Wilde, WestpacTrust Stadium Trust Chairperson. "It's a very low-cost and effective way of getting stadium
information into the hands of the region's ratepayers and stadium users."
The Wellington Regional Council and the five city councils have sponsored four Blue Pages of community information to
form a Local Government Services Section.
According to Wellington Mayor Mark Blumsky, the Blue Pages will be an important source of information for
Wellingtonians. "And we're very happy with that because making it easier for people to access services and amenities is
all part of the Council's job," he said.
"The Blue Pages are a valuable addition to the directories we already publish because every home and business gets and
keeps its telephone book. So it's an excellent opportunity to make available all sorts of useful details such as the
location and opening hours of swimming pools, art galleries, libraries and landfills."
The Blue Pages Index of Government Services allows people to identify which agency is responsible for each Government
service and activity. A Bulletin Board has also been introduced to highlight the latest round of state sector
restructurings and to draw attention to key service providers within the region.
The Blue Pages also feeds information into the New Zealand Government On-line (www.govt.nz) website. NZGO the official
Government website, the Blue Pages Bulletin Board, Index of Government Services and Local Government Services Sections
are all funded by the listed agencies via the Government Information Services Team, part of the Department of Internal
Affairs.
