Hong Kong 3rd Customs Co-Operation Conference

The 3rd Customs Co-operation Conference between New Zealand and Hong Kong starts in Wellington tomorrow. The Commissioner of Customs and Excise in Hong Kong Mr John C Tsang will lead his delegation. Mr Tsang is accompanied by Customs Officials, Mr William Chow Oi-tung, Senior Staff Officer ( Information Technology), and Mr Sam Lui Kin-hung, Divisional Manager, ( Customs Liaison ).
The New Zealand delegation will be led by Customs Comptroller Mr Robin Dare.
Customs to Customs talks between the two delegations will focus on the new computerised Air Cargo Clearance System at Hong Kong airport, the impact of electronic service delivery, relocation of the Regional Intelligence Liaison Office (RILO) to Tokyo, and the level of narcotics trafficking in Hong Kong and New Zealand. Recent major developments at Chek Lap Kok airport, and the formation in Hong Kong of a special task force to tackle trading in illicit fuels, pirated video/CD's, and computer software are also on the two day agenda.
