Plunket Appoints New CEO

Paul Baigent of Wellington, is to be the new chief executive officer of the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society Inc. His appointment was announced today (subs Wednesday 7 July) by Plunket's national president, Pam Murray.
Mr Baigent, a consultant with extensive strategic and operational management experience, will commence with Plunket on 16 August and formally take over the role on the retirement of the current chief executive, John Thompson, on 3 September.
The national office of the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society Inc will relocate to Wellington during October and November.
Mrs Murray said that New Zealanders recognised Plunket as a strong and vibrant organisation dedicated to the needs of all New Zealand families.
"Mr Baigent's leadership skills, management experience in the public and not-for-profit sectors and strength in social and community policy will ensure the continued success of Plunket as the key provider of well child services in New Zealand."
