Now the All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:
The Situation: A trough of low pressure lies to the north of the North Island. A high in the Tasman Sea is pushing a ridge onto the remainder of the country.
NORTHLAND: Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain about the east coast easing and long fine breaks developing in the west. Easterly winds.
AUCKLAND, COROMANDEL PENINSULA, BAY OF PLENTY and ROTORUA: A mix of cloud and fine breaks with a few showers possible. Easterly winds.
WAIKATO and WAITOMO: A mix of cloud and fine breaks with easterly breezes.
TAUPO, TAUMARANUI, TARANAKI, WANGANUI, MANAWATU and TAIHAPE: Mainly fine with light winds.
WELLINGTON: Mainly fine with southeast breezes.
GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: morning cloud and the odd shower about Gisborne clearing and becoming fine everywhere. Light winds.
NELSON: Fine with light winds.
BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Mainly fine with southwest breezes. Cloud increasing in Fiordland later with a few showers developing there towards evening.
MARLBOROUGH and CANTERBURY: Fine after morning fogs and frosts clear. Light winds inland and northeasterlies abut the coast.
OTAGO and SOUTHLAND: Mainly fine and frosty at first today. A few cloudy periods about the coast though. Light winds inland and west to southwest winds about the coast.
CHATHAM ISLANDS: Cloud and fine breaks with a few showers. Southwest winds.
THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Mainly fine weather apart from showers in Northland and coastal areas of Otago and Southland. Chatham Islands, Cloudy at times with southwest winds continuing.
