J. Walter Thompson wins MoleMap
Auckland, September 20, 2017: J. Walter Thompson New Zealand has been named Agency of Record by MoleMap, the country’s leading skin cancer detection
specialist, after a competitive pitch.
J. Walter Thompson partnered with Mindshare, which will handle the media business for the account.
“New Zealand has unacceptable levels of death through melanoma. Our unique place in the world comes with particularly
high levels of skin cancer, and we’re delighted to be able to support MoleMap in providing early detection for New

MoleMap was established in 1997 by a team of dermatologists who recognised that melanomas were being missed in routine
skin checks, as doctors did not always have the technology or skills to recognise melanomas, particularly at the early
stage. MoleMap has since diagnosed over 250,000 patients and assessed over 5 million moles through 50 clinics across New
Zealand, Australia and the US. The company has 40 clinics across New Zealand.
MoleMap Dermatologists formed a team of scientists, engineers, software developers and highly skilled melanographers to
pioneer a thorough program that detects melanoma earlier, when it is most treatable.
