Herbalife Family Foundation Launches Its First Programme in New Zealand to Support Sick Children and Their Families
New Zealand, Aug. 22 2016 – The Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF), a non-profit organisation committed to helping vulnerable children, recently began its first Casa Herbalife programme in New Zealand with the Starship Foundation to help families with children who have serious and often terminal illnesses. The HFF is donating to support the Starship Foundation’s own work, which will include providing supermarket vouchers to families to purchase groceries during the difficult time of caring for a sick child. The Foundation is the charity of New Zealand’s national children’s hospital, Starship, which attended to almost 130,000 patient visits last year. Rod Taylor, general manager of Herbalife Australia and New Zealand, and top Independent Herbalife Members recently presented the Starship Foundation with an HFF Casa plaque, formalising the new relationship.
“We place great importance on the value of good nutrition and are thrilled to help these children and families,” Taylor said. “I’m very proud of our members who always put in their very best in service, attitude, and generosity. Herbalife is excited about supporting the New Zealand community.”
Starship Foundation Chief Executive Brad Clark said the support of the Herbalife Family Foundation is greatly appreciated. “Many Starship families from all over New Zealand will face some of the toughest challenges of their lives when caring for a critically ill or injured young patient. This aid will assist these families with their food and nutrition needs and help them through the hard times.”
The hospital reported more than 56 percent of its admissions in 2014 were for children under the age of 6 years old. For more information on Starship Foundation: www.starship.org.nz/
