Aotearoa Vape Community Advocacy group’s Vape It Forward programme continues to help family and whanau to become smoke free
The Aotearoa Vape Community Advocacy group is happy to report that its Vape It Forward programme continues to be a significant success for family and whanau in Aotearoa.
With an increasing success rate, the Vape It Forward programme provides e-cigarette starter kits for those wanting to give up smoking.
Mandi Coles who helps run the programme says, “There are a significant number of New Zealanders who want to give up smoking, many who have unsuccessfully tried medication and replacement therapies, with the use of e-cigarettes we’re offering an alternative proven to work for some individuals”.
There are currently 160 users of the Vape It Forward community trying to quit smoking.
Mandi says, “The help of online mentoring provides the direct support and guidance for users to stop smoking, but also to provide understanding of how best to use the e-cigarette technology. We have had an 80% success rate getting users off tobacco with e-cigarettes”.
The programme is expected to grow in the coming months with the participation of New Zealand e-cigarette vendors and fundraising.
If any vendor in the community wishes to donate, or wants to try a different method of smoking cessation, please contact mcoles@avca.org.nz.
