Warren & Mahoney to lead Buller IFHC design team
Warren & Mahoney Architects will lead the design team for the new Buller Integrated Family Health Centre (IFHC).
Earlier this year on the Government Tender site (GETS), the West Coast DHB called for proposals from design services interested in working on the Westport building, which will replace the current Buller Health facilities.
David Meates, Canterbury and West Coast District Health Boards chief executive says the Christchurch-based architects are currently part of the design team for the Acute Services Building at Christchurch Hospital, and have recently completed a number of public and private hospital developments across New Zealand.
Other design services have been awarded to AECOM for Mechanical & Electrical services; Calibre Consulting for Structural & Civil engineering services; Olsson Fire & Risk for fire consultancy services; and WT Partnership are the Quantity Surveyors, Mr Meates says.
“This building design team will work closely with Buller clinicians on the next stage - the master plan and concept design,” he says.
“A recent decision to include Community Oral Health means the initial building footprint will need to be increased to encompass that service.”
Mr Meates says the master plan and concept design work about to commence will provide updated information for the Buller IFHC’s Implementation Business Case.
“It will also confirm the preferred option for the construction and ownership of the new IFHC. A range of options was identified in the initial business case, and the detailed analysis and market engagement relating to those is ongoing,” he says.
