Geneva Healthcare Opens New Branch in Nelson
Geneva Healthcare, a wholly owned and operated New Zealand company providing home and community healthcare and support services, has recently opened its’ newest branch in Nelson to better serve the healthcare needs of the Nelson, Marlborough and West Coast population.
Additionally Geneva has appointed Julie Boyd as the Regional Manager, who will be based in Nelson and cover the three regions. Ms Boyd has been involved in healthcare services locally for 10 years and brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge to the organisation.
In 2012, Geneva Healthcare was one of only four organisations to be awarded a national contract with ACC for the provision of home and community support services, after a rigorous tendering and verification process. Since then Geneva Healthcare’s presence in the region has grown significantly and with the aim to provide an even higher quality service at a local level the decision was made to open a regional branch.
Geneva’s homecare and community support services range from domestic support and personal care through to specialist clinical services including respite care. General Manager of Business Development, Hannah Sanson says “Home and Community Support Services and the Support Worker role is far more than a person that cleans the house, they play an essential role in supporting clients which may include assisting with exercise programs, participating in community activities, prevention of falls, socialisation, providing support with personal care and grooming. It is also about relieving loneliness, isolation, providing mental stimulation and encouraging clients to maintain or regain their muscle tone therefore supporting client’s mental and physical health which translates to improved wellbeing and quality of life. Our organisation believes that having someone on the ground will ensure the ongoing high standards of care that Geneva strives to provide every day.”
