Largest single donation in a century
The Grand Orange Lodge is making its largest single donation in history to mark their centenary.
$26,000 will be gifted to the Life Flight Trust for a new ProPaq Monitor, an essential piece of life-saving equipment.
Life Flight’s Marketing and Fundraising Manager Candy Coe says, “We are absolutely thrilled with the gift. The new monitor will play a significant role in many of the 1,500 missions we fly every year.”
“A ProPaq Monitor is used with 95 percent of our patients, to make sure vital signs can be continually assessed.”
“The monitor will be compatible with our Westpac Rescue Helicopter and our two air ambulance airplanes.”
Charles Ferrel, past Grand Orange Lodge Grandmaster, says, “We are celebrating the amalgamation of our North and South Island Grand Lodges.”
“The lodges first came together in Wellington, so our Executive decided this is the best place to support a worthy cause for the community.”
Charles Ferrel and John Hobbs, Grand Orange Lodge Wellington District Master, will be officially presenting the cheque during a brief ceremony at Life Flight’s Wellington base at 10am Thursday June 5th.
Life Flight provides the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to the Wellington, Wairarapa and Marlborough regions, and the national Life Flight NZ Air Ambulance Service to all New Zealanders. Life Flight helps save over 1,500 lives every year.
