Heart Children Week
For one in every 100 children born in New Zealand, a healthy heartbeat isn’t something that should be taken for granted. The reality of having a child diagnosed with a congenital heart defect can put a family under a lot of pressure at a very emotional time.
Heart Children is an organisation that provides care and support to heart kids and their families. From surgery, through rehabilitation and into the future, we understand how important it is to have a strong support network to fall back on.
The Scriveners are one family that has been affected by heart disease. After their son, Ryan, underwent a major heart operation, his father, Rex, made this video to demonstrate the role that Heart Children has played in their lives. Please feel free to pass the video on to others.
During Heart Kids week (May 26 - June 2), Heart Children are appealing for public donations.
Visit www.heartchildren.org.nz/donation.html for a list of donation options, so that we can continue to give our support to families who need it.
