Senior Doctors settle pay deal
District Health Boards say the Senior Doctors' pay deal is a good example of what can be achieved with a realistic approach that puts the health system first.
Spokesperson David Meates says the agreement with Senior Doctors was not without its challenges or tensions but the ratification is an example of what can be done to address some of the very real problems faced by the sector.
"There is an international shortage of doctors that is worsening and we will come under increasing pressure to meet an ever growing demand on health services.
"What's important in this settlement is that both of us are willing to work collaboratively on the problems we share and find solutions to meet the needs of clinicians, hospitals and -most importantly - patients.
