Press Release: Asthma and Respiratory Foundation of New Zealand
30 April, 2008
The Asthma and Respiratory Foundation is delighted that Wellington Mayor Kerry Prendergast is supporting its Balloon Day asthma awareness and fundraising campaign.
The Mayor joins asthma Ambassador Danyon Loader, the cast of the Roger Hall play “Who Wants to Be 100?” and MP and Dancing With The Stars contestant Rodney Hide in endorsing the third Balloon Day campaign. Balloon Day is on 10 May, 2008.
Two of Ms Prendergast’s three children have had asthma – one still does – and her mother has also developed it. She says that anything that can be done to make New Zealanders more aware of asthma should be encouraged.
Nationwide television, radio, print and internet advertisements are commencing next week for the Balloon Day campaign and fun activities will be held at Mitre 10 MEGAs and other participating Mitre 10 stores across the country on 10 May.
Mitre 10 will also be dispensing red asthma balloons for a small donation.
