Flight Centre Enters Sponsorship With The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation
Flight Centre (NZ) is proud to announce that it has entered into a sponsorship agreement with The New Zealand Breast
Cancer Foundation.
Flight Centre has become an official sponsor of the NZBCF; in particular with travel for its Breast Health Seminars,
which offer free and up-to-date breast health and breast cancer information for people in main centres and remote towns
throughout the country.
The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation's aim is to further reduce the number of New Zealanders who die from breast
cancer and to improve outcomes and quality of life for those affected by breast cancer.
As well as financial support, Flight Centre staff will also be involved with the NZBCF's many events and charity
functions, such as the "Dove Starwalk", the "In the Pink" fashion show and Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
"We are extremely pleased to be supporting this cause, and especially being able to assist people throughout New Zealand
to access free information that could save lives," said Melanie Pohl, Sponsorship Manager for Flight Centre New Zealand.
"Breast Cancer is the most common female cancer in New Zealand with about 2,500 women diagnosed each year, but if
detected early it can be treated successfully. We are very proud to be supporting the NZBCF in the very important work
they do in the community."
Close to 85% of women diagnosed with breast cancer now survive the disease.
