Generosity and goodwill alive over Xmas

Published: Wed 27 Dec 2006 07:06 AM
There’s proof that the spirit of generosity and goodwill is alive and well. Christmas cheer can still be found!
The South Auckland Health Foundation is a charitable trust that works to support and extend the services of the Counties Manukau District Health Board. In the region there are families for whom life is truly tough. We think that when people give generously and expect merely a smile return, it’s goodwill at its best.
This Christmas, the children of Kidz First Children's Hospital have been given presents from a number of people who embody everything that Christmas should be about…goodness to all mankind.
Special toys and clothes have been knitted with care. Local businesses and big companies have helped; SKYCITY donated hundreds of hams, fine cheeses and entire hampers of food. These may be a once in a lifetime treat for many of our children and their families.
Regardless of the size of an organisation, its generosity is still driven by thoughtful individuals within. Farmers, Orion Health, The British Consulate, The Manukau City Council, Fisher & Paykel and Buddle Finlay, thank you.
Christmas cheer is a wonderful thing and the smiles it generates twinkle much farther than one might anticipate. On behalf of the children, thank you to everyone who thought of the Kidz First patients and their families this Christmas.
