Nurses Pleased with Plunketline Support
The New Zealand Nurses Organisation is pleased with the recommendation made late last week by the Health Select Committee to restore Government funding for Plunketline.
NZNO is one of many New Zealand organisations that put its full support behind Plunket in the wake of the Government’s decision to tender the Well Child telephone advice service out to a private business.
The value to the community of telephone health advice services is immense.
NZNO supports services that ensure there are skilled experienced nursing practitioners in child health providing the advice.
“Plunket Nurses are held in high regard in their communities,” says NZNO Organising Services Manager, Cee Payne-Harker. “That respect holds a lot of weight and helps reassure parents when they need the urgent advice offered by Plunketline.”
