Apology Re Bob Harvey Statements

PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday 5 July 2006
On Monday 19 June WAAG Inc put out a Press Release reporting on a meeting of concerned residents at the Whenuapai Hall, which was called to discuss the WCC’s plans for rezoning Whenuapai land to ‘commercial airport’. Within that Press Release, comments from those attending were reported concerning Mayor Bob Harvey that could be construed as being unfair and defamatory to his name and reputation.
Whilst the Press Release was only repeating statements made at that meeting, WAAG Inc accepts that it would have been better if they had not been reported. WAAG Inc wishes to retract those statements unreservedly and apologise to Mayor Harvey for any distress caused to him.’
