Harveys Contributes A Further $40,000 To Cystic Fibrosis Association
Harveys Real Estate has lifted their contribution to Cystic Fibrosis to $140,000, after presenting a cheque for $40,000
at the recent Harveys National Annual Awards in Auckland.
Since stepping in as the principal sponsor of the Cystic Fibrosis Association of New Zealand 18 months ago, Harveys has
helped the charity achieve some significant outcomes.
Harveys’ contributions have enabled the Association to continue running the many programmes offered by the Association
for families affected by Cystic Fibrosis.
Chief Executive of the Cystic Fibrosis Association of New Zealand, Kate Russell says “Harveys have been brilliant and
have really picked up the ball and run with it. The past two years have provided a good foundation for the relationship
going forward,” she says. “It’s been a great opportunity to be able to partner ourselves with an established brand.”
“I am particularly impressed with the number of offices putting in extra effort with special events to raise funds,” she
says. “Harveys have enabled us to hire a national social worker and establish some important schemes which wouldn’t have
been possible without Harveys support.”
Cystic Fibrosis is the most common life threatening condition in New Zealand. It is an inherited disorder that affects
people in various ways, but most frequently causes irreversible lung damage. There is currently no known cure and the
average life expectancy for a person with Cystic Fibrosis in New Zealand is 29 years.
Harveys Director, Ross Hunter says “Harveys’ offices throughout the country have shown a lot of enthusiasm towards
raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis and more importantly raising awareness. We look forward to continuing our support.”
