“Senior Doctors Have Solution For Funding Overseas Recruitment”
“Senior doctors have the solution for the funding of overseas recruitment,” said Mr Ian Powell, Executive Director of the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists, today. Mr Powell was responding to the political debate over the costs of recruiting doctors from overseas.
“We have a two pronged approach. First, we regularly advertise in the most influential international medical recruitment publication BMJ Careers, part of the prestigious British Medical Journal publishing group. It promotes New Zealand as a place for doctors to consider moving to and cross-references to our website.”
“Second, we provide a job vacancy page on our website where we offer district health boards very cheap rates including a basic monthly rate of $100 per month and other concessions.”
“This is a service where everyone gets a bargain,” concluded Mr Powell.
