MOH Clarification Regarding Focus 2000
The Ministry of Health has written to Parliament's Health Select Committee to clarify misleading information that was unintentionally provided to the committee and to media.
"I am concerned that I have caused confusion with my comments made yesterday," Deputy Director-General Geraldine Woods said.
"There are other allegations that have been made about Focus 2000 that are not on the public record. These allegations were brought to my attention and to the attention of Health Minister Pete Hodgson on Friday (17 February).
"These allegations are not client service issues. I mistakenly answered committee questions and media questions as though I was being asked about client service issues.
"I now understand that the questions referred to any wider issues around Focus 2000.
"I apologise for any confusion I may have caused."
