Otago DHB Consulting again on a Revised Proposal to sell Property next to Dunstan Hospital
The Otago DHB will begin consulting with the Central Otago and Lakes District communities on 12th October on a revised proposal for sale of surplus properties surrounding the new Dunstan Hospital. As a result of previous consultation in August and September 2004, the ODHB revised its proposals for selling several properties adjacent to Dunstan Hospital.
This new proposal takes into consideration concerns expressed in submissions that the previous sale options would impact on the wellbeing and positive outcomes for Dunstan Hospital patients. The Otago DHB has placed public notices in key Central Otago newspapers notifying the public about the consultation process.
As a result of the consultation feedback and further discussions with community representatives, the Otago DHB has decided to modify its previous proposal. The Otago DHB now proposes to:
1) Sell the properties to the north, north-east of the new Dunstan Hospital (Areas A & B) and
2) Sell the property to the south-east of the new Dunstan Hospital (Area C)
A final decision on the revised sale will be made by the Minister of Health once the Otago DHB Board have finalised their recommendations for sale after consideration of the submissions from this consultation.
Submissions on the issues will close at 5pm on Friday 11th November
Further copies of the public notice and relevant maps can be obtained from the Otago DHB website at www.otagodhb.govt.nz
