Westpac Rescue Helicopter to Take Part In Kapiti Emergency Services Day - Sunday August 21st, 11am - 3pm
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Paraparaumu Fire Service, Wellington Free Ambulance, Kapiti Emergency Medical Service team and the Kapiti Police will all be joining together for a "Kapiti Emergency Services Day" on Sunday, August 21st.
The Emergency Services Day will be held at Kapiti College, on Margaret Road, Raumati Beach, from 11am to 3pm on Sunday the 21st of August. Free entry.
"Usually the only chance people have to see any of the emergency services in action is when there is a real emergency" says Dave Greenberg from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter. "This is a unique opportunity for the community to meet the people and see the vehicles which provide Kapiti with such a high level of emergency care".
At approximately 1pm all of the services will take part in a demonstration of what happens from an emergency service perspective at a major vehicle crash.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter will perform winch demonstrations at aprox 11am, 1:30pm and 3:00pm.
People will also have the opportunity to sign up to help with the Life Flight Street Appeal which will be held on September 9th in the Kapiti region. Volunteer collectors are needed to help with the street appeal collection which raised over $92,000 in the Greater Wellington Region last year.
