Pieter Watson Appointed as New Marketing Manager for the New Zealand Clinics
Role to meet growing awareness by New Zealanders seeking wellness in their sex life and in menopause
NEW ZEALAND – April 19, 2005 – The New Zealand Clinics, which specialises in health issues for men and women, has appointed Pieter Watson as its marketing manager.
As the marketing head for The New Zealand Clinic’s two businesses, New Zealand Men’s Clinic and New Zealand Menopause Institute, Pieter is responsible for increasing awareness of their services through marketing strategies that reinforce the clinics’ leading positions in New Zealand. This involves identifying who may be living with the issues presented by these isolating symptoms and not aware of the opportunities that exist for a safe and effective return to normality. His role is also an educational one, as the organisation seeks to inform people on the issues beyond the target market, including partners, friends and family.
“The demand for our services is exponentially increasing,” says Chris Paltridge, partner and medical director for New Zealand Clinics. “With nation wide support from our expert staff, our marketing efforts had to go hand in hand and required this dedicated role. Pieter brings invaluable knowledge to this role, having successfully grown the business in the general management role he has held since 2002.”
“As a strong health advocate the challenges of the role are exciting partly because the subjects are still not widely discussed and partly because of the enormous difference the service can make to the lives of the clients,” says Pieter. “Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and menopause both affect people in the same sort of age range, and both can be daunting for the person and their family. International data on ED for example shows that men tend to withdraw not only from their primary relationship but also with their family and work-mates as well. On the other hand, successful treatment gives a 37% increase in self esteem, if he can see the sense in seeking help to restore normal function again.”
Prior to joining the New Zealand Clinics, Pieter was involved in computer training with New Horizons. He managed his own business consultancy Pieter Watson and Associates, with clients including Auckland City Community Development and AUT.
Pieter has been a Board member for the Peace Foundation and the Auckland Volunteer Centre as well as involved in Amnesty International and Trade Aid.
