Woman police officer bashed and no one assists, P labs not to be "targeted" due to the cost of such operations and
sexual assault cases not dealt with for years and will be worked on "when resources allow". How bad do things have to
become before we take action to rectify such breaches of morality?
We constantly hear of the police having to work under the pressure of an inadequate budget. Those in a position to
direct how these limited funds are to be utilised are faced with a difficult task. It stands to reason that we must
"attack" the most serious of crimes first until we can afford the luxury of sufficient funds to cover everything,
something not likely to ever be achieved.
GreenCross Medicinal Cannabis Support Group of NZ Inc is pleased to report that some police officers are using
initiative and not prosecuting proven medicinal cannabis patients and the savings made are rightly focused on more
serious crime. A directive from the powers above for officers not to pursue "victimless" crimes when that "crime" is
supported by the persons doctor or specialist would surely have seen a second officer employed and on the beat with the
poor lady who was bashed as described above?
In these times of limited finances and rising violent crime we commend those police personnel who already practice such
principles. Enforcing the law can only be more effective if funds are wisely spent.
