Norovirus Unchanged
The situation with respect to the outbreak of Norovirus at Christchurch hospital remains unchanged.
Dr Alan Pithie said this morning that the two Wards (27 and 28) remained the only affected areas.
‘We are still asking families to check with the Ward staff before coming in to visit patients in those two wards. However, visitors can go to see patients in any of the other wards.’
Dr Pithie said it was important for members of the public to go to their GP if they believed they had the virus having come in contact with either Ward staff or patients. The symptoms were vomiting followed by diarrhoea and usually lasted about 48 hours.
