NUPE Claims Extravagant & Incorrect
Nupe’s claims that CDHB maintenance and technical staff have been told to expect a proposal for change in February involving up to 26 job cuts are both extravagant and incorrect.
Organisational Support & Development General Manager for the CDHB Murray Dickson said maintenance and technical staff were updated on the service review earlier this week.
‘The general feedback from staff was that a coordinated DHB-wide structure had received the widest support and it was also apparent from staff feedback that sustainable improvements and efficiencies can be made.’
‘It is incorrect for Nupe to state that 26 people are going to lose their jobs. It is not fair on staff to make these sorts of claims. It is just not going to happen.’
Mr Dickson said the feedback would provide the basis for more analysis to be done over the next two months which would involve the maintenance and technical staff.
‘We expect to have the proposal for change completed by mid February. Once this is done, staff will have a further opportunity to provide input before any final decisions are made.’
