Supplies of Sustanon will continue to be available over the Christmas period
PHARMAC wants to assure men that the supplies of testosterone esters (Sustanon) will continue to be available over the holiday period.
PHARMAC is responding to a press release by National Party Associate Health spokesperson Paul Hutchison that falsely claims that supplies of testosterone esters could be cut off before Christmas. PHARMAC has been assured by the supplier that the product is available.
PHARMAC has been in negotiations with the supplier of Sustanon, Organon, who has demanded that the taxpayer gives them an approximately 40% price increase for this product.
“It is just not possible to give price increases of this magnitude, especially when inflation is around 3%,” says PHARMAC Chief Executive Wayne McNee.
“PHARMAC continues to be in negotiations with the company, and sent a new contract to Organon yesterday. The company has told PHARMAC that after the holidays it will have a chance to look at the new proposed agreement,” Mr McNee says.
