Poets speak out for Parkinson's
"Shaking hands with Mr Parkinson's is the longest meeting," Glenn Colquhoun's moving imagery of the realities of living
with Parkinson's was just one of the highlights of last night's Poetry for Parkinson's event held at the City Gallery in
Wellington.
From trout fishing, visiting the chiropractor to the anguish of love and the horrors of war - New Zealand's top poets
moved the audience of 120 to laughter, reflection and tears.
"The Parkinson's Society are extremely grateful for the wonderful support shown by poets Brian Turner, Harry Ricketts,
Kate Camp, Vincent O'Sullivan, Anne French, Glenn Colquohoun, Jenny Bornholdt and MC Kate de Goldi," said National
Director Deirdre O'Sullivan,
"It's not often that people have the opportunity to see so many writers of this calibre at the same time as well as
support New Zealanders living with Parkinson's."
